I had to work late last night for parent conferences so Evan was hanging out with his daddy all evening. They went for a walk and Evan got to ride in his storller without the car seat for the first time. Matt said he loved it because he could look around at everything. He is getting to be such a big boy!

Evan went to the doctor the other day for his 6 month check-up. He weighed in at 15 lbs. 14 oz. and was 27 inches long. He is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for length. She still wasnt concerned about his weight because he did gain since his last appointment. He has been pretty picky with his eating lately. He doesnt really like his bottles anymore, even though that is what he really needs right now. There are days when he will drink 28 ounces, but other days when he will only drink 18. So we are doing the best we can and hoping he continues to gain weight. He is starting on more solids now too, which should hopefully help. He was definitely showing off for her as he was squirming all over the table, rolling all over the place, sitting up on his own, and talking to her. She was very pleased with how he is doing!

Matt and I both like monkeys (which explains our jungle and monkey themed nursery.) Therefore, Evan has tons of monkey clothes, toys, decorations, etc. So far he hasn’t complained about all of the monkeys, but he was trying to bite this monkey’s head off! :-)

It is amazing how much babies can change in the first few months. Here is a picture of Evan at 6 weeks old and then again at 6 months old.

Evan is 6 months old today! It is hard to believe how quickly these 6 months have gone by! We celebreated his “birthday” by going to Baltimore to celebrate Devaughn ad Elijah’s 1st birthday (it was actually February 27th, but their party was today). Here’s one of his 6 month pictures. I will update more and post more pictures this week because I am exhausted right now.

I took Evan swimming for the first time the other night. I was a little nervous about how he would do since the water was freezing cold! He wasn’t quite sure what to do! It was family swim night so there were about 30 other people in the pool. I think he was very overstimulated because all he did was stare around the room and look at all of the people. He didnt scream and he didnt laugh, so I really dont know if he liked it or not. We are going to try again next week and see how he does. The pictures came out a little blury for some reason, but here you go!

So Evan is finally starting to get a little chunky. As you can see in some of the pictures, he is getting a little chubby in the face, arms, hands, and legs. It’s about time he starts to put a little meat on his bones! He is eating about 24-28 ounces a day now, which is down from the 36 that he was doing about a month ago. However, he also has cereal both in the morning and at night and he has vegetables for lunch and dinner. So far he likes sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, and green beans. I am going to try the peas mixed with carrots to see if he likes them better mixed with something. If not, then I am giving up on the peas! He is also going to start on some fruit this week, since he has been doing great with the veggies.

Evan really likes to make “raspberries” with his mouth. This is adorable most of the time. However, he has discovered that his favorite time to make rasperries is as soon as mommy puts veggies in his mouth. Therefore, I have been covered in veggies on more than one occasion. I have joked about wearing a rain poncho while I feed him! Matt thought this was the funniest thing, until he got to feed Evan the veggies and see what it was like! There’s a reason why he doesnt get fruit or veggies before I go to work!
