37 Weeks!

We are currently 37 weeks and hopefully Ethan will be joining the family soon! The doctor says that his head is down and he is very low, which means that he is getting ready. I am having lots of strong contractions and am feeling a lot of pressure. Apparently this means that when it comes time to deliver, it will be quicker than it was with Evan. We also found out that we tested negative for Strep B (I was positive with Evan) so we can go ahead and get Ethan here without worrying about getting an antibiotic in first. Come on baby Ethan! We are all ready to meet you!!

Brotherly Love!

Ethan has a very loving big brother. Evan talks about him all the time and is very excited for him to come out! We keep telling Evan that Ethan is too little yet and he is still growing! Here is Evan giving Ethan some loving!

30 Weeks!

We are officially 30 weeks now and a week into the third trimester! Things continue to go well. I am having some back troubles and difficulty sleeping at times, but I guess that is to be expected. The doctor said that i am measuring a bit small so they will continue to monitor my size. If I continue to measure small they will do an ultrasound to double check that baby’s size. Ethan is still very active! There are many times that I have to get up and move around because he is kicking me so much that it hurts! Evan did the same thing to me! These boys are beating up on my already!! :-)

Nursery!

The nursery is coming together very nicely.  Matt and Evan assembled the last 2 pieces of furniture, so it is starting to look more like a baby’s room now. There is still lots to do, but we are getting there! Evan has already taken out some of his toys and books to share with his little brother!

Belly picture

Here is the first belly picture. We are 24 weeks now. Trust me this belly feels much bigger than it looks! This little one is just as squirmy as Evan was, especially when I am driving or trying to sleep! Evan is still very excited about this baby brother. The other day he was laying in bed with me and just started talking to the baby out of the blue. He was telling him not to come out yet because he was still growing in there! He also knows that the baby can hear him now, so he is always saying hi to the baby and giving him kisses! We will try to get a picture of that soon!

Nursery Phase 1

We have slowly started working on the nursery! Matt and Evan put together the crib tonight! The rest of the furniture is in the room waiting to be assembled. Slowly but surely things are coming together for this little man!

General pregnancy update

The last few months have gone by so quickly! It is hard to believe that we are already more than halfway through this pregnancy! I have been feeling well since the middle of August. I am still tired, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that i am working full time and also have a 2 year old to chase after! It definitely keeps me busy and in bed early every chance I get! Baby has sarted to move a lot more in the past few weeks. He is just as squirmy as Evan was! His favorite time to squirm and kick is when I try to go to sleep! That doesn’t help with my being tired, but it is very cool and reassuring to feel him moving around! His heartbeat continues to be strong and I am measuring where I should be for this point in the pregnancy. We are hoping to take a belly picture in the next few days so we will post that when we get a chance.

Ultrasound

We had our 20 week ultrasound done 2 weeks ago. This is the ultrasound that tells us the sex of the baby (see previous post) as well as how baby is developing. We found out yesterday that everything is going as expected! Baby is growing and developing as he should be and so far the pregnancy is going well! We go back in 6 weeks for our next appointment. This is when they will check my sugar for gestational diabetes. Here is one of our 3D Ultrasound pictures!
