We went to the baby doctor yesterday. Everything looks good so far. We setup a date for our “find out the sex of the baby” ultrasound. Originally we thought it was going to be our next appointment (one month from yesterday), but the ultrasound is a seperate appointment. We have it scheduled for the day after Easter. Wooo
We’ve started painting the nursery, and when I say “we” I mean “Matt”. We decided to keep Jenny and “Little T” away from the paint fumes, so I get to do all the painting myself! (It’s good payback since Jenny painted pretty much every other room in the house two summers ago while I was at work.) We decided on a light green color, but step 1 was covering the current dark blue with some white primer.

A few weeks ago my dad sent me a picture of his childhood toy, a stuffed bear. It made me wonder if I still had mine floating around, and contrary to Jenny’s need to get rid of all my old “junk” I found my old mouse in the attic! I wonder what squirmy wormy will be digging out of his or her attic in 30 years…

It’s been a bit slow on the baby blog, but there hasn’t been much to talk about. Our doctor said that for pregnancies, no news is usually good news, so there you go. Jenny is not getting sick anymore and we’ve been making it a point to get out for walks whenever we can.
The nursery is ready to get a coat or two of primer on it whenever the weather warms up. We successfully replaced all the outlets (the old ones were so old that they wouldn’t hold the plug in them for very long) and the room and closet light switches. We also ran the cable TV cable to our office so it no longer has to run around the nursery door, into and then through the nursery closet just to get TV in our office! I dropped a line in the office wall (even Jenny says it looks very nice), up into the attic, and into the garage to finally hook up to the main cable line. Whew!
A few years back I used to pretend that when we had kids I would stop working and be a stay-at-home dad. Obviously, that’s not happening now, but we used to pretend the song “Mr. Mom” by Lonestar was my “dad theme song”. I found it on YouTube if anyone’s interested in hearing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IE45dE-eiOo

Our next “baby doctor” appointment is on the 24th. Stay tuned for more baby news!
We debated what to title this post. At first we thought “The first baby prsents”, but knowing how my mom has her crazy moments, we’ll start a series of posts about that! Mom Tomasov sent us what is most certainly the first two Baby Tomasov quilts in a series of many. The first is a “sock monkey” themed quilt. The second is a space themed quilt. The space themed quilt also glows in the dark! I tried taking a picture of it glowing, but the camera didn’t pick it up so you all don’t get to see that. Just know that it looked really, really awesome. By the way, Mom Tomasov actually made these quilts.
